Classes compete and sophomore girls win Class Softball games

Feelings of rivalry were high on Saturday night, September 9. Class Softball games were held at the CA fields, keeping onlookers on the edge of their seats until after midnight.

The beginning of fall’s brisk air made parents bring blankets and concessions sell hot chocolate. The sophomore girls took everyone by surprise when they broke the three-year winning streak of the seniors. The senior boys, however, kept their pride and beat the sophomores.

I played shortstop for the junior girls’ team, who drastically lost to the sophomore champions. Playing on a team with classmates and friends made the experience relaxed, and the team spirit within classes was evident.

The school doesn’t have a softball team, so Class Games are a way to give the softball players a chance to play and have a friendly competitiveness with each other.
