Macy Seebeck, Staff Writer

My name is Macy Seebeck and I am a junior at Collegedale Academy High School. I have the privilege of being on the staff of our school’s newspaper, Echolier.

Writing has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Whether it be writing an essay, poems, or creative writing, I have always found it therapeutic to be able to put my thoughts into words. It used to be extremely difficult for me to express how I felt, especially when it came to my emotions. When I learned how to properly write down my thoughts and spin those into cohesive paragraphs, a whole new world opened up to me.

When it comes to writing, my strengths include being able to correct myself when making an error, crafting an essay without personal opinions, and learning new ways to write. My sophomore English class taught me how to write an essay that doesn’t have bias, find reliable sources, and how to correctly cite my sources. I would also consider these some of my strong suits.

Going hand-in-hand with writing, reading is another one of my hobbies. I love immersing myself in fictional worlds and connecting to the characters. I love to imagine myself being in the same situations as the characters, and picturing what I would do. I also enjoy art and theatre. I took over 4 years of art classes, and continue to stay active in my local theatre centre.
