Collegedale Academy’s Boys Soccer Team played their first regional game of the season last night against King’s Academy from the Knoxville area. The Eagles won 6:1. They have worked hard to get here, and they absolutely crushed it. They played amazingly. They scored early on into the game and kept that lead throughout the game. Within the first minute of the second half, they had made another goal. They made their last goal in the last minute of the game.
Part of the team’s secret to success is their vigorous practices where they build their skills. They practice for over two hours. “It’s a lot of work, but it’s enjoyable,” says Noah Alvarez, a member of the soccer team. Players have said that practices have definitely paid off. These practices have also helped them create strong bonds with their teammates. Team manager Yvette Kim says that this season she has seen a lot of growth and friendship between the teammates. This is present on the field. The team supports each other and celebrates their accomplishments together.
And there is a lot to celebrate; this season has been a winning record. “The best part is winning games,” says team member Lucas Dickson. The team has won or tied 7 out of their 10 games so far.
Now, because of their win, the team will advance forward. Go Eagles!
