My name is Yesenia Germosen Polanco, and I am a senior at Collegedale Academy. I was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and migrated to the United States to have a better education and upbringing. My family’s support and determination inspire me to turn my dreams into possibilities. They have stood by me at my worst and will continue encouraging me.

While I’ve been exposed to many things, writing, singing, and reading remain consistent in my daily life. On a typical day, I write poetry, which could turn into journaling, and that helps me find solace on a difficult day. It turns out that the more you write the more your skill improves. So, my passion for writing has bloomed over time, and so has my love for reading.

Some of my other interests include philosophy and classic literature. It interests me to find phrases that were commonly used before but have since disappeared in our modern English. I wish to deepen my knowledge regarding these interests and strengthen my writing skills by exploring varieties. I know being part of Echolier will help me achieve that, and I appreciate being here.
