Lady Eagles Volleyball Team Falls Short vs. GCA

The CAYA volleyball team failed to win against the rival GCA Lady Jaguars, losing in five sets. The game was held on Saturday, August 31, in Collegedale Academy’s gym.
The game went back and forth: GCA won the first set, CAYA took the next two, but finally, the Jaguars won the last two sets, granting them the game. Junior Gabby Fowler believes that passing and serving inadequacies probably led to CAYA’s loss. Fowler added that former CA student, Brooklyn Moore, now a member of the Lady Jaguars, had a good game, and “hit the ball where we [CAYA] weren’t.”
The Lady Eagles will have a chance to get revenge on Saturday, September 28. That match will also be held at CA’s Gymnasium rather than at GCA, due to complications, and will begin at 8:00 p.m.

When asked about the rematch with GCA, senior Savannah Shoemake declared, “We’re gonna cream ‘em, we’re gonna do it.”
