Girls Soccer Team Scores in Bunches Against GCLA

​The CAYA Girls soccer team beat a team from Girls Christian Leadership Academy with a 7-0 shutout.  The game, the first of the year, was played on CAMS field on August 20th. ​The scoring came from numerous players and goalie Maddie Johnson, a sophomore, hadseveral saves to keep the other team from scoring.   Senior Katara Cooper led the team with two goals of her own.  Fellow senior and captain, Whitney Aumack, had a goal off a free kick just outside the penalty box. ​In what was a dominant performance by the whole team Whitney Aumack described the game as “light and fun” and added that it was great to be back on the field with both old and newteammates. ​The girls’ team will take the pitch on Monday, August 26.
