You may not think you are wonderful

Thoughts toward yourself aren’t loving

and they overcrowd what once was a beautiful garden

But you are unaware of the myriad of lovely thoughts directed at you

perception isn’t a mirror; it’s a kaleidoscope

And while you’re counting your flaws, she’s wanting your smile

he’s realizing your melodious laugh brightens the room

Thousands of inadequacies attributed as diamonds

While you’re not everyone’s perfection

you are someone’s

And they see the way you move, the kindness you show, and the light behind your eyes when you’re speaking of your passions

Through starry eyes
