Have you ever stressed on what to wear to school during spirit week? Maybe you thought to yourself “I don’t want to be lame”. Or possibly you thought that everyone would judge you for your outfit. Here are five ways to have a enjoyable and creative spirit week.
- Don’t wear your school uniform all week! Take advantage of the opportunity to wear clothes other than what you wear every day of the year. Take advantage of your freedom to wear something else! It’s boring if you don’t participate, as some might say…lame!
- Don’t steal other people’s outfit ideas. If you overhear somebody’s outfit idea, don’t take it. While there will always be some crossover, it might be more fun to coordinate, rather than steal outfits. This is especially true for Twin Day! Find a friend and match up!
- Own what you wear. Own it. Own your outfit. Be confident. A crazy outfit fully committed to is 10x better than a “sort of on theme” T-shirt. If you own your outfit you can show other people how cool it really is. Confidence is key.
- Enjoy the hilarity of everyone’s funny and different outfits. Take time to enjoy everyone’s outfits of the week without judging them. Everyone is going to look silly and funny! Have fun with your outfits, and don’t stress on what everyone thinks. Don’t overthink it, and be yourself.
- Remember it’s not a contest! Everyone is going to look great, so compliment everyone. Don’t leave yourself out on a week of positivity and creativity! Encourage others to join you on the one week of school, where you can have fun with your outfits; and enjoy other people’s unique clothes by affirming them that they look great also.
