Five Things You Didn’t Know About the Sandy Erickson 5K

  1. The Sandy Erickson is a fundraiser for the Worthy Student Fund. The money procured from the Sandy Erickson 5K funds about a third of the students in the Collegedale Academy school systems. 
  2. The 2020 Sandy Erickson race  will be virtual, so you can run on a trail, in your favorite park, on a treadmill, or  even in place, all while maintaining a safe distance from other participants. 
  3. This year’s balloon illustration was done by  senior Mia Sabala. It features whimsical pastels with a dark background. 
  4. The race’s organizer, Mrs. Silverstein, offers her famous bowl of assorted candy in her office. In exchange for candy, you donate to the fundraiser. 
  5. The virtual 5K will take place on November 1 at 2:00 pm. Remember to wear your shirts and take a picture after you’re done running. And most importantly, stay healthy and have fun!
