Opus Gears Up for First Performance

The year is in full swing, and our new choir teacher, Ms. Bishop, is not messing around when it comes to Opus. Collegedale Academy’s elite choir has their first gig of the year on Saturday, August 17, for all three Collegedale Church services.

Some have questions about how ready the choir is for its first performance with a new director; however, the members of Opus are confident.

Senior Clayton Neil says, “It’s quite a different atmosphere in comparison to previous years, but Ms. Bishop is very encouraging, and I think we will be absolutely ready for our first performance.”

The students have taken well to the new choir director. Junior Emily Wilt says, “She is bold and always makes herself clear.”

Ms. Bishop is excited to work with her new students for upcoming performances. In an interview, the newly appointed director gives us her thoughts: “One thing I am really enjoying is the energy of this choir,” says Bishop.

Ms. Bishop’s confidence is contagious, and people are excited to see if the reason behind her confidence is legitimate. The community and the students anticipate the performance.
