Healthy alternatives to favorite junk foods

Whether you are in Soulcon or Renew or you just want to eat healthier, here are some snack alternatives that are nutritious and tasty to keep you energized throughout the day.
1. Instead of potato chips, bake your own kale chips with olive oil and salt at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes.
2. Collegedale is known for Little Debbie snack cakes, yet these cakes are fattening and contain too much sugar. For an easy cookie recipe that is much healthier, combine four bananas, 2 1/2 cups of oats, and 1 cup of almond milk. Add in any other ingredient (such as chocolate chips, coconut flakes, or walnuts) and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
3. In place of ice cream, try frozen yogurt or a smoothie. My favorite smoothie is made with one frozen banana, a cup of mango, 1/2 cup of orange juice, 1 cup of almond milk, and 1 tablespoon of chia seeds.
4. Frozen grapes are a great alternative to hard candy.
Eating healthy does not mean having only salads and vegetables. There are many alternatives to your favorite snacks and desserts that taste just as good — and make you feel better in the long run!
