10 ways to celebrate autumn

Madison Reinschmidt, writer

Fall has finally arrived! The autumn season is back, along with cooler weather, tasty treats, and school festivities. Celebrate the new season with these ten fall activities:

  1. Go to CA’s Fall Festival. This year’s fall festival is on October 9 from 5-7 p.m. in CA’s backyard. Make sure to come and support all of the classes by participating in fun fall activities from hayrides to pumpkin painting!
  2. Eat some treats. Whether it’s a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks or baked goods from Panera Bread, there are plenty of different foods to enjoy at local Chattanooga restaurants and cafés.
  3. Take a walk. Autumn brings back memories from my childhood of playing in the leaves. All of the beautiful colors of orange, red, and yellow make spending time outdoors much more enjoyable. So get outside and thank God for his wonderful creations.
  4. Light a candle. There are lots of scents to choose from. Cinnamon, apple, and pumpkin are the traditional favorites.
  5. Bake a pie. What kind you make doesn’t matter; all flavors are delicious.
  6. Have a Photoshoot. There is no better season to catch the essence of nature. Get out your camera and snap some pictures.
  7. Watch football. Root for your favorite team in hopes for a win!
  8. Visit the Chattanooga Market. There are so many different booths to look at and foods to taste. You may even find Christmas gifts there.
  9. Wear a cozy sweater. Chilly weather calls for lots of sweaters.
  10. Carve a pumpkin. Use your favorite character, a cute pattern, or a template to transform a pumpkin into a fall decoration.
