School Spirit Soars as Students Break the Ice
On the evening of August 8, 2013, the Collegedale Academy gymnasium buzzed with excitement as CA students, faculty, and parents gathered to attend CA’s first SA event: Icebreaker. Icebreaker is our time to break down social barriers and get comfortable with our school. It is an important period in the school year because it gives students, faculty, and parents an opportunity to meet each other in an excited, upbeat atmosphere of fun and games.
This year’s Icebreaker was no exception to that rule,” says senior Connor Strawn, “I thought it went great! It was lots of fun. I think that it’s going to be a good year with lots of school spirit.”
“It went really well. It was nice to see our classes working together, and I liked seeing the school come together for something we all enjoy,” says sophomore Maci Farnswarth.
“I really loved Icebreaker! It is my favorite school event just because everyone is so enthusiastic. The healthy competition between the classes keeps everything interesting, but there is still the desire to get to know everyone. I love all the school spirit! I feel very at home when everyone is all peppy. I just wish that we could have enthusiasm throughout the whole year,” says senior Lauren Waegele.
School spirit was high on August 8, but just because the event is over does not mean that the spirit has to die away. Keep a positive spirit and outlook on this school year. Make this year the greatest year CA has ever seen.
