On Tuesday, August 23, the CAYA varsity soccer team played their second game, which was against Apostolic Christian, and won 9-1.

The boys had an equally favorable game on Thursday, August 18, against Ray County, a team the JV boys beat 2-0 one week earlier.

“We started out slow, but then we found our pace, we began communicating in the second half,” Captain and senior Chad Nash said.

Although rain began falling mid game, the boys came out with a 5-0 win.

“We’re happy for the win, but there’s still more work to do,” senior Josiah Madrigal said.

CAYA varsity boys have a game on Monday, August 29, at Finley Staduim. They will be playing their long-time rival: GCA. Tickets can be purchased today, Friday, August 26, for $3  ouside of the 50s diner. The gate opens at 5:30, and the game begins at 6:15.

“We haven’t beaten them [GCA] in years, but this year we’re taking home the win,” Nash said.
