Nine no-longer existing Collegedale Academy traditions
September 18, 2015
Collegedale Academy is a school of many traditions. Some of these traditions, such as icebreaker and S.A. Picnic, are still practiced today. However, quite a few do not exist anymore. Here is a list of nine traditions that have ceased.
- Vespers every Friday night
- A barn party on Halloween where everyone came in a costume
- S.A. Christmas Party
- Academy Talent Program
- Girls’ and Guys’ Receptions, Valentine’s Day Banquet, and Christmas Banquet
- Junior/Senior Retreat at Cohutta Springs
- Senior Night
- Ski trip
- Lock In

A lot of these seem really fun! I think it would be nice for either a small explanation on why each one died out, or maybe a follow up article about it so we can know why we don’t do these anymore.
