The CAYA boys and girls’ junior varsity teams left school on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, for the annual basketball tournament at Andrews University.  They arrived safely in Michigan Wednesday night and began tournament play the following day.
In the teams’ first match up against the local Andrews High School, the girls wound up on top 47 to 43.  The boys did not fare so well: losing to the Cardinals 54 to 50. The second round of games on Thursday followed the same pattern.  The girl’s team defeated Hinsdale Adventist Academy by a score of 37 to 18.  The guys fell to Greater Boston Academy 63 to 49.
Tournament play resumes Friday the 7^th as the girls look to remain unbeaten and the boys aim for their first win.  The tournament wraps up on February the 8^th.
